Look at Me
2022-2024
acrilyc aerosol on canvas
variable sizes
“Look at Me” is a series of paintings that portray men invited
to the studio through dating apps like Grindr and Tinder. These
meetings are not sexual but artistic and therapeutic, creating
emotional and personal value for both sides. The artist engages with his models about their sexual habits, self-image, life perspectives, and emotional viewpoints. The prolonged gaze and real-time drawing sessions offer a rare, enriching experience, contrasting with the fleeting and superficial interactions typical of app-based encounters. The series explores the tension between the capitalist world of reproduced images that erase individual identity and a world where the individual is visible and can share their true selves.
Reflecting the transient nature of social media, where influencers and content creators present perfect lives and
bodies while hiding a more complex reality, the project
offers an alternative form of intimate relationship. It aims for a deeper, more genuine connection and understanding a deeply human experience.
